AFL Goldfields search for Coaching Mentors

AFL Goldfields are looking to establish a team of coaching mentors to support the ongoing development of community coaches in the AFL Goldfields Region.


A mentor is an outside person who can help the coach find ways to prioritise their tasks, to make the most of the time they have available, and to work on improving their coaching effectiveness.  This can encompass not only the practical application of coaching but the personal skills and attributes of the individual to be an effective coach.


Responsibilities include;


  • Promote appropriate training drills for skill and game development at appropriate age levels
  • Attend junior training and offer assistance for training skills and drills
  • Promotion of Coaching Co Ordinator program at Junior Clubs and assisting with implementation
  • Liaise with coaches regarding all things coaching via phone and email
  • Provide regular feedback to AFL Goldfields FDMs and RGM


Coaching Mentors will report to the AFL Goldfields Football Development Managers and will be paid an honorarium for their time.
